Each year, the Doctoral School of the University of Jaén organizes the Doctoral Conference for Young Researchers. This year, the Doctoral Conference was inaugurated by Professor María Teresa Cotes, Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Advances in Materials Engineering and Sustainable Energy, with the keynote lecture “Trayectoria del Grupo de Investigación TEP222 - INGENIERÍA DE MATERIALES Y MINERA”. Developing a doctoral thesis is a long-distance race that requires a great deal of sacrifice, and on some or many occasions, this effort goes unseen. The purpose of these doctoral conferences is simply to share, teach, discuss, and discover the line of work of each doctoral student, as well as some preliminary results, as we will all appreciate the work involved in developing a poster. For this reason, the Doctoral School hopes that, in a way, these conferences will be an opportunity for doctoral students from different branches of knowledge to come together, allowing us to perhaps discover other perspectives, approaches, or answers to the same problem depending on the eyes that look at it or the branch that appreciates it.

During the Doctoral Conference for Young Researchers held at the University of Jaén from 17 to 19 June 2025, 98 doctoral students attended and presented 40 abstracts in poster format. The abstracts presented and defended in poster format were evaluated by a specific Evaluation Committee made up of two professors from the field of knowledge and the Director of the Doctoral School.
